Speech 

 

Challenge:
Choose ONE of the topics below and present a 5 minute speech to the class:

 

  • Violence in American schools
  • Violence in schools overseas
  • Violence in media (TV, Internet, video games, music)
  • Successful anger management programs
  • Where anger leads
  • The causes and effects of anger
  • Anger, violence and substances 0(Pot, alcohol, drugs etc)
  • Aggression Replacement Training (Dr. Goldstein and Salmon)
  • Empathy and anger management
  • Passive aggressive, aggressive, assertiveness as it relates to aggression
  • Thigs that are violent that we might not recognize easily
  • Suicide and anger
  • Substance abuse among teens and why teens partake
  • Anger and the juvenile justice system. What works and what doesn’t.
  • Animal aggression and human aggression. What is similar/different –
  • Where we learn to be aggressive

 

SPEECH requirements:

  1. Topic must be researched thoroughly and evidence given for viewpoints
  2. Mizz Waller will see your progress weekly – have research info handy.
  3. Speech notes must be used with a copy to Mizz Waller
  4. Student will practice before actual speech is given to class at the end of the session
  5. Project your voice
  6. Enunciate well
  7. Use handouts, poster or overhead.

 

 

Credits: Keep track of time put in – A well done speech will take at least 12 hours of work.
