Speech
Challenge: Choose ONE of the topics below and present a 5 minute speech to the class:
- Violence in American schools
- Violence in schools overseas
- Violence in media (TV, Internet, video games, music)
- Successful anger management programs
- Where anger leads
- The causes and effects of anger
- Anger, violence and substances 0(Pot, alcohol, drugs etc)
- Aggression Replacement Training (Dr. Goldstein and Salmon)
- Empathy and anger management
- Passive aggressive, aggressive, assertiveness as it relates to aggression
- Thigs that are violent that we might not recognize easily
- Suicide and anger
- Substance abuse among teens and why teens partake
- Anger and the juvenile justice system. What works and what doesn’t.
- Animal aggression and human aggression. What is similar/different –
- Where we learn to be aggressive
SPEECH requirements:
- Topic must be researched thoroughly and evidence given for viewpoints
- Mizz Waller will see your progress weekly – have research info handy.
- Speech notes must be used with a copy to Mizz Waller
- Student will practice before actual speech is given to class at the end of the session
- Project your voice
- Enunciate well
- Use handouts, poster or overhead.
Credits: Keep track of time put in – A well done speech will take at least 12 hours of work.
