Physical Conditioning

Mizz Waller

 

Class description: This class is a challenging physical conditioning class designed not only to improve the student’s level of fitness but also self discipline. There will periodically be an in-class lecture on a pertinent health issue

 

Attire: Students are encouraged to wear workout attire that is school appropriate. T-shirts, shorts or sweats.

 

Water: Students are encouraged to drink plenty of water before and after a workout. Bottled water may be brought to class but break time is limited.

 

Grading: Students receive an effort/behavior score daily from 1-10. (Zero if absent or mis-behaving). This score is entered weekly and progress reports given frequently.

 

THE PRIZE: If a student receives an “A”, s/he will receive a T-shirt stating they have survived Mizz Waller’s workout. The student will also be in improved condition!

 

Outside credit: For every hour in class, the student may earn an hour of outside credit off campus. There are three options:

  1. Workout at a facility (YMCA, gym, martial arts class etc.) . All documentation is due 3 days before the end of the session.  Use the prepared sheet for documentation.
  2. Six page report using research to substantiate findings – typed 12 size font and double spaced. Topics: - Address the negative affects on health
    • Smoking
    • Adult Onset Diabetes
    • Substance
    • Alcohol and health problems in young adults
    • Marijuana
    • Obesity in young adults
    • Fast food
    • Benefits of exercise

**Remember: Be on time to class, give it your all, drink water.
